Geleceğin Sınıfı Tasarımı (iTEC) projesi Avrupa Komisyonu tarafından başlatılmıştır. Avrupa Okul Ağı tarafından yürütülmekte olan bu projeye ülkemiz de katılım sağlamıştır. Bu projede, ülkelerin eğitim müfredatlarının proje tabanlı öğretiminin dijital medya kullanılarak yaygınlaştırılması amaçlanmaktadır.

The cycle1 has now ended and we would like to thank you for the feedback you gave us on the activities you have done. We will use these as much as we can to make improvements for cycle 2.
We also attach Guidelines for National Coordinators that we prepared to give you information and guidance on how to implement activities.
So here is an update on the activities for the next cycle, which will start on 1st of March and end on 30th of June. (You can find the below message in the attached word document)
Learning Stories for cycle 2
The Learning Stories that will be implemented during Cycle 2 have been selected after the 3 sessions held with partners and National Coordinators in the past weeks. There are 3 Learning Stories:
· Mathematics in a multicultural setting
· Embedding exam preparation in learning activities
· Students creating sciences resources
Each Learning Story includes a package of 6 or 7 Learning Activities. In order to conduct a Learning Story the teachers will have to try to achieve all the related learning activities and describe the reasons for success/failure.

Selection of classes and Learning Stories for cycle 2
Participation in cycle 2: As indicated at the start of first cycle, you are encouraged to take part in the 5 cycles of the pilots, however only participation in 4 cycles is compulsory. So it is up to you to take part in cycle 2, however we recommend it as the first cycles are crucial to shape the project activities.
Selection of classes: There are a certain number of classes that need to be involved in the project cycles. You can find attached the document indicating, per country and cycle, the number of classes that should take part the iTEC pilot. Do not forget that at least in one of the cycles you will have to engage 40 classes.
Selection of Learning Stories: Each National Coordinator will select which of the 3 Learning Stories will be implemented in the classes, preferably the same Learning Story should be used within classes of a country. The only condition is that there should be minimum 5 countries testing each Learning Story so once you have selected it, we will need to check if the minimum of 5 countries is respected.
Online assignment of the learning stories: In cycle 1 you had assigned Learning Stories to the classes via the iTEC teacher community management tool. We realized this tool was quite complex and we are looking for improving it or finding another external solution. We would be happy to collect your suggestions on this topic.
In order to enable us to follow up on the above, please let us know how many classes you intend to involve in the cycle 2 and what are the Learning Stories you would like to use by filling this form, if possible by 18 February:

Translation and Localisation of Teacher Material
You can now start to translate and localize the Teacher Material. The files to translate are:
· Guidelines for teachers
· Description of the Learning Stories
· Description of the 7 Learning Activities

Pilot preparation workshop
Once the Learning Stories and Activities will be translated and localized, they can be presented to your piloting teachers. In this view, you can organise national workshops to present the cycle 2 activities and explain cycle 2 teachers the tasks they will have to accomplish during the pilot phase. There is no requirement regarding the format these workshops should take: online or face-to-face.
Please could you send us a short report of these meetings (number of participants, date, length, format, activities, outcomes, problems raised…) so that we can follow your progression, identify potential pitfalls and draw some recommendations for the next cycles.
Case studies teachers (WP5)
In each cycle, each participating country’s NPC should identify 2-3 case study schools prior to engaging in the pilot. This is necessary in order for teachers to fully document the process of implementing the Learning Stories. NPCs will then identify three case study teachers from their selected case study schools. The same case study schools (and teachers) could be used in every cycle if preferred, but this is not a specific requirement. Evaluation questionnaires (WP5)
Prior to the pilot teachers will have to fill the questionnaires for evaluation purposes. A link to the forms will be sent to you shortly.
Pre-pilot running in April & May (WP3)
There will be pre-pilots running in April and May (2 months). The pre-pilots are coordinated by WP3 partners and will involve 2 teachers/classes from each piloting country.
Teacher community is evolving
In cycle 1 the Teacher Community was launched and concerns were raised about its usability and its technical issues. We are well aware of these and we are working on improvements and simplifications of the Community, so we should have a new version of the Community ready at the end of March.
This may slow our capacity to reply to issues raised in the forum or to us directly, we apologise for this. However, please make sure, if you have an issue to raise, to use either the forum or to contact the WP4 team (Either Patricia Munoz King or Marie Le Boniec).
